A Family Story
The history of Vineyards Dulon dates back to 1737, when Bertrand Dulon, a native of Soulignac and valet to priest François de Solirenne, married Marguerite Patrovilleau on May 30, 1737. The couple ran an inn in their hometown until Bertrand took the opportunity to purchase a property from winegrower Etienne Milh a few miles away.
Despite its dilapidated condition, Bertrand and Marguerite were thrilled to acquire the land, especially the adjoining vineyard, which they chose to maintain.
The Birth of a Winegrowing Tradition
Bertrand Dulon embraced his new role as an innkeeper and winegrower, unknowingly laying the foundation for what would become a multi-generational winegrowing legacy. Their dedication to maintaining the vines introduced future generations of the Dulon family to the art of winemaking.
Expanding the Estate
From the original 2 hectares of vines inherited by Bertrand and Marguerite, their son Jean Dulon continued the family’s work by expanding the vineyard. The estate has since been handed down from generation to generation, each contributing to its growth and reputation.
Today, Vineyards Dulon remains a testament to the family’s unwavering commitment to quality and tradition, continuously evolving while honoring its rich history.
