Domaine Petit Métris Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru

Description

From a lower-slope vineyard near the Layon River, this Grand Cru benefits from richer soils composed of sandy clay and pebbles. Fully botrytized and intensely sweet (with residual sugar around 200 g/L), the wine is vinified and aged in large oak foudres. Offered in 500ml bottles (12-pack).

Color: Radiant gold with glints of copper.

Nose: A captivating bouquet of cinnamon, cumin, and linden tea, interwoven with apricot confit, fresh mint, and subtle floral notes.

Palate: A striking interplay of sweetness and acidity. Lush and layered, with flavors of persimmon, pineapple, and ripe apricot, lifted by zesty ginger and orange peel. The bold structure delivers richness with finesse, finishing long and elegant.

Pairing & Aging: Quarts de Chaume has extraordinary aging potential and will evolve beautifully over decades. Once opened, it remains fresh for weeks when refrigerated. A superb partner to seared foie gras with apple, salty or blue cheeses, or a classic tarte Tatin.
