Domaine Rolly-Gassmann farms 2.47 hectares of vines in Bergheim, rooted in Jurassic limestone and blue marl soils that are notably rich in magnesium. This ancient geological mix underpins the depth and finesse of the wines. The Brandhurst de Bergheim lieu-dit lies between 240 and 300 metres above sea level on south-east facing slopes, providing excellent exposure to support even ripening. In the vineyard, organic and biodynamic principles are applied, although the domaine has chosen not to seek formal certification.
