Domaine Rolly Gassmann’s Kappelweg de Rorschwihr Gewurztraminer comes from the south- to south-east–facing Kappelweg lieu-dit above Rorschwihr, where vines at around 220–235 m grow on very stony, blue-grey marl limestone soils that naturally give concentrated, aromatic fruit with firm acidity. Made from 100% Gewurztraminer, it is typically golden in colour with pronounced aromas of lychee, rose and other exotic fruits, plus floral and spicy notes. The palate is full-bodied and opulent, with noticeable sweetness balanced by vibrant acidity and a long, mineral, spicy finish, making it well suited to rich pâtés, blue and washed-rind cheeses, aromatic Asian dishes and fruit-based desserts.
