Olaszrizling, also known as Welschriesling or occasionally Italian Riesling, is unrelated to true Rhine Riesling. This variety is widely cultivated across Central Europe. Sourced from the nutrient-rich loamy soils of Hungary’s Balaton region in the west-central part of the country, it undergoes stainless steel fermentation. The result is a midweight, vibrant wine with crisp apple, pear, and citrus notes.
Terroir: This Olaszrizling is sourced from the northern shores of Lake Balaton, where basalt, limestone, tuff, and loamy soils contribute to the wine’s distinct character.
Winemaking: Hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and purity of flavor.
