Karl Schaefer Riesling Herrenberg

Description

Warm with moderate sun exposure and cool, loamy limestone soils, the Herrenberg yields ripe grapes with incisive acidity and dense minerality.

Very cool nose with complexly structured and delicate aroma with distinctly clear and fresh fruit of light green peach, some grapefruit and nutty notes typical of the site. This is joined by fresh kiwi and a hint of candied pineapple. Very complex and deep with a lot of potential.

Very fresh and vital in the mouth with juicy acidity and cool minerality that presents itself on the tongue with distinct salty notes. Wonderful drinking flow with a mixture of cool elegance and extremely ordered structure, which sensory expresses every subtle nuance. The palate reveals very clear notes of grapefruit and peach with elegant pressure and extract sweetness clearly accentuating the fruit, with plenty of tension that only slowly fades in the finish.
