Karl Schaefer Riesling Weilberg

Description

The Weilberg offers slowly ripening, dense Rieslings and presents itself with a distinctive spicy note from the ferruginous Terra Rossa soils.

Very deep, almost warm aroma of juicy peach and exotic pineapple with a slight smoky hint of flint. This is joined by hints of woodruff and a touch of mint typical of the vineyard. The result is a complex aroma of fruit, spice and delicate, almost nutty toasty notes with incomparable depth.

In the mouth very dry with gripping minerality and concise acidity, but tamed by the density. Together with the slight astringency creates a powerful mixture that lines the mouth until perfect. On the palate, a clear contrast to the dry attack emerges with a sugar-free, extract-sweet fruitiness of peach, lime and grapefruit, set off by the subtle salinity and present for a very long time in the finish. Classic Riesling fruit melds with sweet green spice and expansive minerality to create an exceptional wine with enormous potential.
