The 2019 vintage was marked by a chaotic vegetative cycle; the difficult climatic conditions brought a lot of stress and uncertainty. The winter was cold and lasted much longer than usual. May was particularly cold with some frost, luckily with no bad consequences. As a result, the vegetation growth was delayed; the flowering season only started in mid-June, which is a delay of 3 weeks compared to 2018. From the second half of June, the weather changed to warm and dry conditions, and it continued through August, which helped with the vegetative growth. Some August rain brought respite to the summer drought, and veraison started relatively early (mid-August), helping with the delay from the flowering phase. The combination of warmth and rain at the end of August helped with perfecting maturity. Harvest conditions were ideal. It was warm and dry through to the end of October.
