Oseka I Protok, Ebb and Flow, is a blend of the fruity Pošip, 60%, Trebbiano Toscano, 20% and a 20% blend of the delicately floral Bogdanuša, Maraština and Muscat.
Pošip is an indigenous grape that is primarily grown on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. This varietal is one of the few that resisted the phylloxera at the end of the 19th century. In 1967 Pošip was the 1st white wine in Croatia with a denomination of origin.
Bogdanuša is a white grape that is grown on the island of Hvar in Croatia. The wine was traditionally drunk at religious festivals and for that reason was given its name, Bogdanuša translates into ’given by God’.
Although it was believed that Maraština is an indigenous Croatian grape, research has shown that it is closely related to Malvasia del Chianti. This late-ripening grape is extensively grown throughout the Croatian region of Dalmatia and is mainly used as part of a blend.
This is an original Dalmatian blend, bright-golden nectar from Hvar vineyards surrounded by sun and sea. The terrain is extremely rugged with very little soil to grow from, the vines are planted on the side of the mountain, facing south with inclines between 10% and 20%, altitude ranging from sea level to approximately 350 meters. A very rocky soil that is mostly red clay top soil with a rugged limestone base.
