Vinos del Viento Garnacha Blanca

Description

Grape varieties: 90% Garnacha Blanca, 10% Viognier

Sourced from select vineyards at 600 meters (2000 ft.) above sea level, these grapes thrive in poor, calcareous clay soils rich with stones (canto rodado), enhancing their character and depth. Harvested at dawn to preserve their aromatic intensity, the grapes were brought cold and fresh to the winery for fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. Afterward, the wine matured on its fine lees for 4 months, adding texture and complexity. With a limited production of just 7,000 bottles, this wine offers an exclusive and finely crafted expression of its terroir.

James Suckling: 90 points 2021, 91 points 2020, 92 points 2019 vintage – This has very attractive, fresh lemon and pear aromas with a gently waxy edge. The palate is smoothly proportioned with good density of flavor and long, fresh pears and poached apples. Bright and crisp finish. Drink now.

Robert Parker: 91points 2020 vintage – peachy nose and a velvety palate…good acidity and comes through as fresh and balanced. Itʼs varietal, fresh, elegant, clean and expressive, with notes of white flowers and pollen. Itʼs balanced and tasty, very pleasant. Really very good.
